Articles & Newsletter

Stories, Research, and Radio Knowledge

PSARA members regularly share articles in the club newsletter, covering a wide range of radio-related topics. These articles are written by members for members and reflect the variety of interests within the club.

Topics often include:

  • Home radios made of wood, metal, plastic, and Bakelite
  • Transistor radios and later technologies
  • Early wireless, maritime, and military radio
  • Golden-age broadcasting and remembered programs
  • Restoration projects and discoveries
  • Historical research and preservation stories
  • Practical tips, lessons learned, and experiments

Some articles are technical, others are more historical or story-driven, and many combine a bit of both.

Member Newsletter

Articles are published in the PSARA newsletter, which is available to members. The newsletter is an important way to stay connected between meetings and to explore topics in more depth than time often allows during a meeting.

Reading the newsletter gives members a chance to:

  • Learn from other members’ experiences
  • Explore radio topics more deeply
  • Discover new areas of interest
  • Revisit ideas and projects from meetings

Interested in Contributing?

Members are encouraged to contribute articles to the newsletter. Whether it’s a detailed restoration write-up, a short historical note, or a personal story about a memorable radio, contributions are always welcome.
