From early wireless to home radios made of wood, metal, plastic, Bakelite, and beyond, there\u2019s always something interesting to see and talk about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re just getting started or have been enjoying radios for years, meetings are relaxed, welcoming, and easy to jump into.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Weekly Zoom Meetings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>PSARA meets <strong>every Friday evening on Zoom<\/strong>, starting around <strong>7 pm<\/strong> and usually going an hour or so. These weekly get-togethers make it easy to participate from anywhere and are a great way to get to know the club and are available for members and visitors. If you\u2019d like to join a session, please <strong>contact us<\/strong> to request the link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weekly Zoom meetings often include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Presentations on radio history, science, and restoration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Informal discussions and Q&amp;A<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show-and-tell moments where members share current projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stories about radios found, repaired, restored, or remembered<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>No special equipment or deep technical knowledge is needed \u2014 curiosity and interest are more than enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors are always welcome to join a Zoom meeting to see what PSARA is about. Weekly Zoom get-togethers are available for members and visitors. If you\u2019d like to join a session, please <strong>contact us<\/strong> to request the link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Monthly In-Person &amp; Hybrid Meetings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a month, PSARA holds an <strong>in-person meeting<\/strong>, with a Zoom link open so remote participants can join as well. These meetings add a hands-on, social side to the hobby and are full of activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mini Swap Meet &amp; Social Time<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The day usually begins around <strong>8:00 am<\/strong> with a <strong>mini swap meet<\/strong>. When the weather is good, it takes place outside in the parking lot; when it\u2019s cold or rainy, it moves indoors. Coffee and snacks are available, and there\u2019s plenty of time to browse radios and parts, talk with others, and catch up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workbench Area<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A workbench is set up where an experienced repair person can help members and guests:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Learn how to approach diagnosing radio issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Become familiar with safe use of test equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Talk through repair challenges and possible next steps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This area is especially popular with newer radio enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys learning by doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Demonstrations &amp; Show and Tell<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Around <strong>10:00 am<\/strong>, demonstrations and Show and Tell begin, and the Zoom meeting opens so remote attendees can participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Past demonstrations have included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wooden cabinet repair<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restoring a WWII military radio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vintage television repair equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kit building<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on tube testing using several testers, including a Hickok<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crystal radio building classes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Show and Tell<\/strong> gives members a chance to share projects, discoveries, or lessons learned, and questions from the group are always encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Business Meeting<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>11:30 am<\/strong>, the PSARA business meeting begins. Guests are welcome to attend. The building is on the corner of 206th and 52nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From I-5 Southbound:<\/strong><br>Take the 196th St SW exit going west. Stay on 196th until 50th Ave. W and turn left. This becomes Cedar Valley Road, which leads to the Grange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From Highway 99 Northbound:<\/strong><br>Turn right on 208th St SW, then left on 52nd Ave. W. The building will be on the corner at 205th St SW on your left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From Highway 99 Southbound:<\/strong><br>Turn left on 200th St SW, then right onto Cedar Valley Road.
